Here is our guide to the top dog-friendly restaurants and cafes in Austin.

Caroline

A must-visit spot in Austin, Caroline offers a hearty meal experience for you and your furry friend. This unique dog-friendly restaurant boasts a full bar, games, and a spacious backyard where you can enjoy your favorite American food. Don't miss their special Sunday Yappy Hour, where bringing your doggo Upstairs will earn you a 25% discount on your visit all day long.

Dog House Drinkery Dog Park

An off-leash dog park and bar, Dog House Drinkery Dog Park also welcomes hoomans with or without a dog in tow. If you're looking for a day of fun, friendship, and furry camaraderie, this is where you should go. Hoomans get in for free, but doggos pay an $8 entry fee, with annual memberships going for $150! They have three off-leash areas and dog-friendly indoor and outdoor seating. It has a bar where you can get a wide array of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Bouldin Acres

Play a game of pickleball or enjoy drinks at an outdoor bar, all courtesy of dog-friendly Bouldin Acres in South Lamar, Austin. It provides the perfect setting for a memorable meal with your beloved pooch while having fun with other doggos. Try their Iron Table Wagyu Burger or their healthy-ish Fajita Bowl to make the experience even more momentous.

Yard Bar

A dedicated dog park and bar, the Yard Bar is probably the dog-friendliest hangout place you can find in Austin. It is a restaurant, bar, and an off-leash dog park all rolled into one fun venue. Doggos have to be spayed or neutered, while hoomans have to be 21 to be granted entrance. It has a full-service bar and Bark Rangers on patrol so all dogs can play around safely.

Better Half Coffee & Cocktails

For a day of great food and drinks, check out Better Half Coffee & Cocktails. It has a massive shared patio that's perfect for letting your pup out for a run or a series of zoomies. You can binge on the chilled ramen with fried chicken or the Basque-inspired burnt cheesecake with cherries and get a fill of espressos, lattes, and made-to-order fresh cocktails.

Ski Shores Café

A dog-friendly cafe serving some of the best hamburgers in town, Ski Shores Café is located right beside Lake Austin. This gives you and your pupper great views while sipping your favorite drinks. It has a dedicated play area, especially for dogs and kids, or you can lounge in their outdoor seating areas. The lake is also open to swimming, in case you're interested. 

Easy Tiger

An artisanal bakery and beer garden, Easy Tiger is a hip hangout you and your pooch will love. Indulge in its artisan breads, European-style pastries, and Amy's Mexican vanilla ice cream on a brownie. Your four-legged friend is welcome to hang out at its beer garden tables, where you both can enjoy live music and game day viewing.

Blue Lacy

Nothing says dog-friendly more than Blue Lacy, a hotel restaurant that offers menus for dogs and hoomans. Its name comes from a Texas dog breed, the Blue Lacy or Lacy Dog. Treat your pupper to a meal of cooked, unseasoned chicken or beef served with rice, a special dog beer, and special dog ice cream. For hoomans, there's the Blue Lacy breakfast, curry bowl, and a variety of craft beers, among other drinks.

Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar 

For a taste of excellent smoked meats and boozy slushes, Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar is a great place to dine with your pup in tow. It has one of the largest outdoor patios in the whole of South Lamar, ideal for sampling the best in Asian cuisine and Texas barbecues. Enjoy these and more on their outdoor seating under trees and fans, where you can kick back and soak in the friendly and warm vibes.

The ABGB

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co., more popularly known as The ABGB, is one of the best breweries in Austin. It is also of the dog-friendliest as they have a special place in their hearts for pets. Their special brew, the American Pale Ale, is crafted specifically for Austin Pets Alive! an animal rescue organization. It has a dog-friendly patio where you and your pooch can enjoy an afternoon of local craft beers and BBQ pulled pork sandwiches.

The Little Darlin’

A large patio that's perfect for a game of pool, fried chicken sandwiches, and a day of fun and relaxation with your dog, The Little Darlin' is a must-visit when you pass by Austin. It is pet-friendly as you can find Chupie the Chupacabra, a cutie cat who has over 433 thousand Instagram followers, on its tables enjoying some snuggles, a warm drink, and fries. 

Irene’s

An unpretentious dive bar, Irene's is an excellent hangout where you can take your pupper to enjoy cocktails, seasonal pastries, and the best brunch in the city. It has several tables in its outdoor seating area where you can dine with them by your side. It serves comfort-style foods and snacks such as Popcorn & Pickles, Irene's BLT, and some of Irene's signature drinks. Don't be surprised if the wait staff will dote on your doggy, they are dog lovers, too.

Banger’s Sausage House

Imagine being in a German beer hall setting right in the middle of Austin, Texas! That's the vibe you get when you take your dog to Banger’s Sausage House. Treat yourself to a meal of homemade sausage, beef jerky, pickled veggies, and craft beers.
